Peenemunde

This interesting place was on our route westwards and somewhere John wanted to visit. It's the site where the V1 & 2 rockets were developed as weapons of destruction for WW2 which then lead on to the general development of space science.  Centred on a Power station site, there was a lot of industrial architecture which interested me.  I loved the reflections of a long gantry in the windows of the old power station and the house martins' nesting places under the conveyor belt formerly used for getting coal into the building - will take too long to upload an extra!

I couldn't help thinking that it would have made a great modern art gallery!!!
