Chill

Architect came round first thing and we talked through the tenders from builders. Chose one and he phoned them to ask about a visit and next steps. Rather thrown when they said they could start in two weeks...eek! This whole process is such a roller coaster....nothing happens for so long then all in a rush and I hate not feeling more in control (or in the know about how to control it).
Did some sorting out and finishing off with work things that the last couple of days haven’t given me time for, whilst A had a long lie in. A few emails managed to establish I might be able to lodge with someone whilst the work’s being done...that’s something at least, but still an awful lot to arrange. I will have to delay a bit beyond what they’re suggesting and may have to curtail being away for my holiday so I can do more sorting and packing and getting rid of old furniture but at least something’s happening at last. When she woke we headed into town and mooched around the shops getting (or trying to get) ideas for her birthday on Monday. She had a bit of a treat at the Fenty counter trying out some make up, and later we enjoyed tacos and frozen margaritas (with associated brain freeze!) before heading to cinema to watch ‘Yesterday’ and having a good singalong to all the Beatles songs. Nonsense but fun.
Home - lots of steps and a very companionable day. Despite the clouds it’s been a good one.
