Gotcha - I think!

We took a drive to our very favourite place today on the South Coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, leaving fairly early to avoid the traffic.

This is slap bang in the middle of our summer holidays (kind of like the August holidays in the UK), but I mentioned to Rower when we were driving home that the Brits wouldn't even recognise it as 'traffic'. Busy for us, but it only took just over an hour to drive back. No dramas at all. And a few dozen people on the beach at Victor Harbor is as crowded as it gets.

The "beach" actually stretches from the mouth of the River Murray at Goolwa, right along through Middleton and Port Elliot, through to Victor Harbor - in an unbroken line, and that must be easily 12 miles or even longer. No wonder it never gets crowded. There is also a very good mix of safe family areas and surfing areas. Something for everyone really.

It's almost always cooler down there as well - 33 degrees in the city, but a balmy 25 degrees at Victor and Goolwa.

We had the best day - weather wise, blip wise, and just plain happy wise. We called into to see new Blipper Antipodia, who lives at Encounter Bay, lucky girl. We had a great blip meet and played with her gorgeous dog, Ruby and her lovely cat Giz.

This is definitely my best image of the day, though there were plenty of sand pipers running around. But they are nowhere as showy as a Great Egret fishing. You can't see the tip of this Great Egret's bill, but take my word for it that it's blackish, which indicates that it is a youngster.
