Exploring....

We began this morning at Kings Cross Station and travelled to Durham. So effortless by train, so quick too! Or maybe it’s because we did a lot of talking....

Gail planned this trip for last July but we had to cancel because of her treatment. This year, that’s behind her and we’re here for a few days. Lots planned, beginning in the morning with a castle tour, and then the cathedral and then.....It will be a wonderful time. On Saturday we go to Bishop Auckland to watch Kynren, a re- enactment of the history of England.

We had a pootle in town this evening before dinner. There are plenty of cobbled streets to climb. This one is just around the corner from our hotel and took us to our first sight of the cathedral area.

D is sailing until Saturday so our times away have overlapped. There’ll be plenty of time to catch up with each other and lots of experiences to share.
