Capt. David Lynn memorial

Capt. David Lynn served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War under Gen. George Washington. He built a home on this spot in 1801 and called it Rose Hill. His wife donated some land to a church for a cemetery and asked that it be called Rose Hill. Lynn died in 1835 and was interred with his wife at the cemetery.

Rose Hill was demolished in 1968 for an interstate highway.
