HISTORY....

... today was sort of special in a few ways!

Most important was the arrival of our daughter, son in law and our wonderful grand daughters Alice and Hayley. They are here for a couple of weeks on a short holiday from their present home Dusseldorf Germany.

Second was of course the historic 50th Anniversary of the landing on the moon back in 1969. As the now famous words rung out at 12.56 pm our time 50 years ago today, when Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon for the first time by man.
As I mentioned in an earlier Blip Australian played a really important role by having a "clear picture" of this landing when the US connection failed.

The other historic event today was an Open day at Arms of Australia Inn Museum Emu Plains.
Aside of many activities the Cobb & CO coaches stopped here on the way over the Blue Mountains.
They had heaps of things happening and took just a few pics starting here on Flickr. Not sure they had Solo Lemon in cans back then!!

Enjoy and have look in LARGE and if you are right into the moon thing, another Aussie had a famous song ... have a listen here on You Tube
