The Glasson Branch

With Mr P's heart fluttering he can't do hills and suggested a stroll along the Glasson branch of the Lancaster Canal to  lunch at the basin and back. This is the entrance to the branch canal from the Lancaster Canal out to sea. We saw 9 bridges, 7 locks,  wonderful wild flowers, lots of swans, a strange "toy" lighthouse and the Port of Lancaster Smokehouse. After visiting the latter, our rucksack was considerably heavier. We rested and lunched in the Lantern O'er Lune cafe and wandered back. 13 km - my goodness Mr P!  My longest post hip walk yet, no poles but it was flat.
