Happy New Year

We awoke to a brand new year (which was no surprise) and bright winter sunshine (which after the recent weather was a surprise)
We had decided that if the weather was favourable we would celebrate with a wee hill walk.
It's incredible how a bit of sunshine can lift your spirits and make you quickly forget the rain-induced doldrums so off to a hill we have both climbed before called Dumyat (pronounced Dum - Eye - At) which is at western edge of the Ochil Hills, right next to Stirling.
The hill was pretty busy with New Year walkers and there were even a few hardy mountain bikers (although they seemed to be pushing more than riding on the way up and the crowds would make for a pretty boring downhill ride for fear of creaming a toddler, rendering the whole exercise a bit pointless to me)

We stopped at the summit long enough to drink some very strong coffee and take a few photos before heading back down.

On the way back we decided we hadn't climbed quite enough for one day so we made a short detour to the Wallace Monument, which celebrates our gratitude to Mel Gibson for helping tourism or something (I don't go in for that fancy book learnin')

Anyway, all that is left is to wish everyone a preposterous or if you prefer prosperous New Year
