Today we packed up our suitcases, had an early breakfast, and boarded the coach for our return trip.  We left before 8am as Andy, our driver, was anxious about the M25, as schools in the area had stopped for the summer the day before and he thought the M25 would be a nightmare, and we had to negotiate it to get to the M6.  However, it was fine, the traffic was very busy but moved along and there were no accidents when we were on it, so we made good time.  And we bombed up the M6 toll road also, had three stops of two half hours and one three quarters of an hour, and when we reached Abington services, Andy relinquished the coach, and his responsibilities, to another driver, who took us up the remainder of our journey.

We had the company of a lovely couple, Betty and Billy, at our table at mealtimes, and we had a lot in common and a lot of laughs with them.  And to our delight and surprise, they presented us with a lovely bouquet on the road home, to thank us for the nice time.  Such lovely people.

So we were home just before 7pm, which we thought was good time.  Had a walk around the garden, and was amazed at how many blooms there were on the hydrangea, the HG cut it back quite hard and we thought it might have suffered a bit and had fewer blooms, but the opposite was the case.

First washing on, a G&T before bedtime, and hoping for a good night's sleep
