Loteria

We hired bikes today (big heavy things with wide turning circles and clanky gears) and cycled down through the Turia - the parkland that fills the bed of the river that used to run through Valencia to the sea but was redirected following the floods of '57 - past the CAC and out by the docks to the beach. We stayed long enough for a drink in a beachside bar and an empanada in the shade of a palm tree and then made our leisurely way back. 18 miles or so in total - not bad in the low 30's degree heat - and the only cycling after that was the stuff from France on the TV. Later on we went out for more flamenco - a tableo affair this time in a very cool black and gold venue in Rustafa - where we allowed ourselves to be upsold food we didn't really need and the dancing was a little frantic but it was still a lot of fun...
