Robin's pincushion

This rather attractive gall caused by the hymenopteran gall wasp is known as the rose bedeguar gall, Robin's pincushion or moss gall. The gall is i chemically induced distortion of a leaf axillary or terminal bud.
They are quite common round this way, and in their own way rather attractive I feel.
