Starlings

I am being taunted by a cardinal. He comes to the garden just long enough to fill his beak before he leaves again. On every visit he keeps his back to me and won't turn to face the camera.

I'm not helped by the herd of starlings in the trees, they seem to be keeping most of the smaller birds out of the garden but aren't coming down to the feeders themselves.

Not a good day for backyard birding.
