New Life

New life appears
Arising as pheonix
From last year's branch
A bud
Filled with awakening energies
Ready
To grow and to burst forth
Into a verdant splendour
Encapsulating
All that its parent is
Ready
To display itself
To sell
Its life
So its children
Might see the light
Of a day
Existant
Only in an, as yet,
Unseen future
To grow
Burst forth
Into golden sunlight adorned bloom
And welcome
Insect rapist
Unknowing suitor
User and used
Fertiliser and feeder
Spreader and gatherer
A father figure
For one moment in time
Destined
Never to know the child he brought forth
Another new life
The cycle
Continues
