Leader of the Aerial Gang

This is the current leader of the aerial gang. He was engaged in a vocal duel with the boss of the oak tree mob. They do this almost daily for most of the year. I have not needed the TV aerial for many years, but I’ve left it for the gang.

While starlings mark their territory all year round (except when they are away for their late summer/early autumn vacation) other birds do not. The rest start in spring after several months break. This mild winter is confusing them, however. Many are testing likely spots to see if there are any challengers. The resident waxeyes are secure in their spots, but others testing or claiming are the bellbird, grey warbler, black fantail, dunnock, thrush, chaffinch, greenfinch, and skylark. I’ve also seen blackbirds and a yellowhammer, but they are not singing.
