Blackwater River

Mum bought herself a new compact camera yesterday, so when we saw the sun and blue skies this morning, we just had to find somewhere to try it out in the limited time we had before heading back to her home in Kent. I visited this river a few weeks ago and thought the river was high then. Today it was in full flow and while it had not burst it banks, it wasn't far of.

Mum stopped on the bridge over the river watching the ducks and a lonely swan frantically back-paddling against the current in order to grab their ration of bread from the inevitable Mother and Child. Mum was very pleased with the shots of the swan and river she took on the new camera - but she still needs practise with the panoramic feature!
