Jubilee Gardens

Today my husband had a ninety-minute Addenbrookes hospital appointment at the neurological gym. This turned out to be a full history of his main problem, which he contracted in 1974, but which was never diagnosed properly, as well a discussion of all of the side-effects that have resulted. They are going to try and correct his balance; he goes back on Friday 16 August for exercises and hopefully will also be able to do these at the gym I go to.

After we had early morning coffee we sat in the Jubilee Gardens and read our books until it was time for his appointment. This is the view from the bench that I was sitting on.

After this appointment we went into town for lunch. It was hot, but only twenty-six degrees Celsius today. The town was full of tourists and of course children as they are now on their summer holidays. The tourists have no idea about queuing and on one occasion just walked to the front of the Costa queue that I was in to order their drinks. It was pointed out that there was a queue! Then when waiting for the bus, other children walked to the front of the queue, past about fifteen queuing people to get on the bus; again they were told there was a queue. This is one of the reasons we do not go to Cambridge very often in the summer, but when we have been to Addenbrookes it is where we like to have a walk and lunch before coming home.
