Cattle resting in the New Forest

My 9th Backdated Blip.

An August day where some sun actually shone and whilst the tourist and visitor might expect to see ponies (of course) or deer (hopefully) chances are they'll see a fair amount of cattle, too. specially in the villages toward the edges of the now, National Park. In this case, near its north east extremity.

On the rare occasions that I can get into the Forest proper (difficult on public transport) I would walk as far and take as many pics as possible; these were the days before I joined Blip.

The essential lens (though you may think a wideangle zoom more useful) is a decent telezoom, in this case 70-300mm (Tamron SP VC) on the DX format D7000, giving up to 450mm eqv. This helps pick out details such as this and bunching up the perspective, which makes the trees more attractive, too.
