An excitement of puffballs

Irresistibly puffable!

We had a steady walk up to the hut this morning which was damp but a delight as walking along the track to the top were tens upon tens of puffballs. They varied in age from fresh, white and firm extrusions to this wonderfully tactile, dry squidge.

I was in my element!
