The Reappearance Of The Pomegranate

This lovely wrought iron pomegranate is part of the stand for candles in Winchester Cathedral. Behind is a tiny door to a priest's hole. I would love to discover all the secret places in the Cathedral where the public are never allowed to go.
When I was little my Mum used to treat us to one pomegranate every October when they appeared in the shops- they cost 2/6d which was a lot in those days. I still see them as a treat and bought a couple for a colourful Christmas fruit salad- delicious.
It was a surprise to find this piece of wrought iron work- good old Blip for giving me another eye.
