I always feel a bit hungover after gig nights - despite not having drunk alcohol in a fair old time - but at least my hearing was okay this time - even after I noticed a worrying round of earplug-fitting in the crowd last night, just as the right-old-racket that is Flipper live rumbled into being. They were even better than when I last saw them - David Yow of the Jesus Lizard is currently standing in on vocals for Bruce Loose, whose health keeps him from touring, and they've got bona fide Punk Rock Royalty on bass these days in the form of Minuteman Mike Watt.
