Peat field

Along our lane, in fact just beside our gate, is the path leading to a peat field that is still operational and has enough peat left to stay open for at least another 20 years. At the moment it is sodden as you can see here. I stay firmly on the path as I have already left one boot to the peat in the past and was lucky not to loose the other one too although one boot is not much use to anyone. It did help to to escape from the water at the time though! It's not for nothing that there is a sign up stating "Multi Hazard Area".
This is another contribution to the "One Street" project even though my street is rather different from most other streets.
