Garden Pot Gnomes

Offered 2 last minute tickets for the New Forest Agricultural Show. So my friend arrived chez nous at 08:15 this morning and we (Mr B too) took the 8:45 train to Brockenhurst (15mns journey). Then shuttle bus from the station to the show.

Luckily not too warm - for a few minutes I thought we’d have to return home, but then it clouded over again. By 2pm we’d had enough and my feet were weary.

First time we’d been. So much to see. Sheep, goats, ducks, dogs etc. We watched horses competing to qualify for the Horse of the Year Show. My friend explained the various categories - I don’t have a clue. They are a horsey family, with the granddaughter now a champion rider.

And saw prizes being awarded to best of show sheep and goats - all gorgeous. Anxious farmers and breeders fussing over their prized stock. Fun hearing the baaing and bleeting simultaneously from the pens.

Clothes, food, machinery —- you want it - it was there. Not sure we’ll go back, but at least we’ve seen it.

Pleased to be home now

Thanks to Ingeborg again for today’s Abstract Thursday. My image is is a collage of garden pot gnomes on sale at the show.
