Polesden Lacey

We entertained our South African friends today. They are in the country staying with their daughter. While Normous took David for a round of golf, Helen and I visited our local National Trust house, Polesden Lacey. We first explored the garden where although the roses are past their best, the long double herbaceous borders were looking magnificent. One side is set off by an attractive wall which has occasional windows through to the rose garden. After enjoying the garden we enjoyed a lecture in the house, learning about Polesden’s previous owner, Lady Margaret Greville.
Helen&David will soon be returning to South Africa, but will be back next year.
