Soaking it up

Lovely day exploring. We started after a good breakfast with a trip up to Keswick to visit the pencil museum and have a wander. They’ve built a new museum in the car park of the lovely old pencil factory....but sure it used to be in the factory itself and was much bigger, quite interesting, especially to see the way they made pencils with compasses and maps inside for PoWs in the war to navigate to safety, but otherwise not a lot to see.
Headed off to the Castlerigg stone circle nearby....getting much brighter and warm and there were some lovely very typical Lakeland views all around,
Went down to visit the Blackwell Arts and Crafts house near Windermere afterwards....absolutely stunning (extra) inside and out, with every detail designed by Baillie Scott including the dinner service, door handles, window catches etc etc. Gorgeous. I could have moved straight in!
Went into Grange for fish and chips later....huge whale sized portions but very yummy, then an earlyish night
