David Stirling

David Stirling Memorial
David Stirling was the founder of the special military fighting units of 1941
during the second world war, they would be small groups of about eight who would go behind enemy lines to create havoc.

Today we call them the SAS who are a valued group of special fighting men and to whom we owe a great deal of thanks for there bravery.

This is a statue and memorial to him and all who were involved. It is located on the B824 road between Doune and Bridge of Allan and where David Stirling came from.
