A very early start rewarded by a bacon roll and good coffee at the ceilidh place before sailing the seven seas to our Hogmanay hideaway..

A hideous time in Stornoway where the shelves were emptying and a quick getaway across the island before the storm began to rage. And boy, did it rage. Wind howling, rain slamming against the windows but all fine and warm inside the glories of the most beautiful modern house I've been in, let alone stayed in - complete with endlessly warm floors thanks to the very heat of the earth itself. Strong gin all round to toast the holiday!
