Happy Birthday Angela (and Sir Alex)

New Year's Eve, and MUFC's Sir Alex Fergusson (71) and friend Angela's (52) birthday all rolled into one today. This was the calm before the storm of the party celebrations. It was taken in a brief spell of sunshine as the sun set over a very cold but beautiful Cemaes Bay. Another for the Cloud Appreciation Society series.

I don't know about Sir Alex's celebrations tonight before he prepares for Wigan away tomorrow, but Angela loves her two Springer Spaniels Ben and Poppy like surrogate children, and so this was their last hurrah on the beach, before we picked up Paddy and Steph up from the Holyhead ferry arriving from Dublin, and headed off to start the party.

The night set out in store involves MrsB's Dahl curry and baked chilli salmon first, followed by trying to grab a table at the Bull's Head Inn and then a public firework show at midnight. Ominously, this getting a table will require the diehard advance corps getting to the Bull by 6pm to form a tactical beachhead to allow the ladies to join us later and get a seat. Such unselfish gallantry demonstrated from the 4 beer monsters gentlemen of our party, as this little pub is packed even on normal nights.

So, Happy Birthday Sir Alex and Angela, and Happy New Year to all of Blipland! Hope you all have/had a great celebration, and lots of love and luck to you all for the year in store.

Postscript: Sorry for the radio silence and back blipping neccessity imposed by Anglesey's terrible 3G in Beaumaris, but was trying for ages to backblip this from my iphone on New Years Day. All I kept getting told was that this was impossible as 31st December 2012 was a date set in the future (maybe I have passed through a DrWho wormhole?). Anyway, I am finally back in Knutsford now and I look forward to catching up with you all soon.
