Village Gate.

Woke up to a sad and shocking sight this morning. Our local pub where we ate on Friday evening. Luckily no one was hurt.

It's a pub that has changed hands many times over the years, have no idea why it struggles as it has everything. Character, beautiful views over fields with horses grazing and Coombe Hill and the monument on the horizon. An enclosed garden. Log fires burning in the winter. The latest landlord is cheerful and friendly. On Friday he offered me a try of the house wine before I ordered - never experienced that before! Maybe it's the economic climate and the fact it's on the edge of the village and not the centre? Who knows?

Don't feel 100% today (think some kind of dizziness virus) so am going to have an easy day today.
