One Crowded Hour

By GlassRoad

and here we are...

...on the lavender route in Provence.
Ambitiously I have a book stuffed with places to see and the whole route is under 200kms in length!...how hard can that be in 3 days.

Well impossible!
So much to stop and look at and while the lavender is still waiting to appear in all its purpleness the Abbey Notre-Dame de Senanque (extra) will be picture perfect in a few weeks time.
And then there are The Bories (extra)...a settlement of stone buildings the origins of which go back to the Bronze Age. Built by shepherds and hunters the stones, without mortar, are shaped and stacked into huts. In this village they served as animal pens, human habitation, storage and even a bakers oven.

And at the end of the road in the impossibly pretty village of Sault there is nougat!
In fact two nougatier (extra)....that's something you definitely don't see every day.
