ID needed

A question for all you birders out there. What type of bird is this? It was by the water in the nature reserve and I've been unable to identify it for sure. The closest I get is a moorhen but it doesn’t look exactly like the photos.

I got up early to get my study out of the way. So I made time for my nature walk and later I get to go for a run. 

I read a news item today stating that the FA will be streaming all WSL football games from the start of this season. Brilliant news. The last Women's World Cup proved there is an audience.
