Hither and thither ...

.... grand day out with B&P in which plans evolved as day wore on.

Headed towards Aberfeldy with idea of having lunch there and possibly visiting distillery but after visiting St Mary's Chapel decided to visit Castle Menzies instead but missed the turning so went to Fortingal to see yew tree instead.

We then made our way to Kenmore and had Cullen Skink in Kenmore Inn, where Robert Burns had stayed and wrote a (not especially good) poem on wall.

We then visited the Crannog Centre where we had a great time - the guides were both knowledgeable & enthusiastic telling us about the building itself, cooking and other aspects of daily life, including spinning & dying wool. The later involved local lichens and plants and application of urine over several days- which made me wonder how they discovered this worked ! Really interesting.

We also saw Elvis, a goose who thinks he's a duck and who has adopted several adolescent ducklings.

We stopped at Ian Burney Chocolatier on way back for coffee & cakes.
