Red carpet.

I’ve travelled to Chimoio in Manica Province, close to one of our project sites. Every year since 2015 there has been a festival focused on biodiversity held in a provincial capital. This year’s is close to where we’ve been conducting biodiversity surveys, so it’s a good time for classic NGO buzzwords: dissemination and awareness-raising. Alongside various colleagues from different organisations, I went to the festival venue to check out good poster locations before it starts tomorrow. And I enjoyed strolling the streets of Chimoio (uber chilled) before having a spag bol at one of the very few restaurants in town.

As people were rushing about preparing a room where lectures will be held, I spied a crumpled red carpet. This is presumably for the various dignitaries expected to attend. Even the President is rumoured to be making an appearance. The red carpet will need some dusting off and straightening out before tomorrow.
