Bouquetin High Altitude Blipmeet....

.... at the Diablerets Hut. I thought I was never going to make it, had a serious energy crisis near the top. Francoise (not a blipper) and wildmint went up like the bouquetins we were hoping to see with PAR1, who sensibly arrived by télécabine. We certainly were not disappointed, 8 females/babies were not far above the hut where this was taken. As we had lunch two 4 or 5 year old males came quite close before they dawdled up a cliff to join the big boys (see extra). The main herd of 10 males were too high to take good photos. However the most exciting/frightening moment was when the females set off, little ones following and one of them tried to jump up but didn't make it. He fell, shook himself, walked further along the cliff, found an easier way up and joined his very anxious Mum and sibling (second extra). I am sure that wildmint and PAR1 will be publishing very similar photos including our group shot (third extra).

A rather long ambling story today but it was an exceptional few hours with the bouquetins, so if you have read to here, thank you for your patience.
