At last we found the sunshine...

...on our Douro River Cruise. We have had high temperatures all week but this afternoon the sun got through the heavy cloud in this little port, Barca d'Alva, close to the border with Spain.

We decided to join a handful of other passengers who were not taking today's excursion to the Spanish city of Salamanca. Hours of coach travel and city walking would not have been fun in the heat. 

The bonus was feeling we had a large boat to ourselves, with helpful staff to deliver food and drink at all times. Peace.
