Neither Here Nor There

Sic Gloria Transit Mundi

This blue plaque marks the birthplace and former home of Squadron Leader Ginger Lacey, a RAF fighter pilot who fought in the Battle of Britain, during which he shot down a Luftwaffe aircraft which had bombed Buckingham Palace.

Some years later, I worked with his daughter.

His former home has been replaced with an Aldi supermarket and this is all that remains.

Oh, well: it's not about what we leave behind, but about how we have lived.
