Party time

A day of lightning talks. My anti-“passion” rant goes down well, as does my deep dive into the inconsistencies between the UK and US imperial units.

Then it’s party time. The conference has the whole block outside the hotel - bars and restaurants. There’s an excellent cover band playing classic Motown and more. Two pianists lay down tunes in the piano bar. There’s food and drink a-plenty, plus lots of friends old and new.

From there to the hotel “night club” on the 19th floor until closing. Things get a bit confused. I’m woken up by a Chilean couple. I’ve fallen asleep on a couch in their suite, where they had hosted a post-party, post-club continuation. It’s 3:30. Tomorrow has arrived.
