Life through my eyes

By Amanda_T

An autumnal day

A quite unseasonal storm has swept through last night, and still a bit windy today, so some leaves and branches down. These are the fountains at Cabot Circus and I used the soft focus filter to blur the water a bit.

Mr T had his long awaited low vision clinic appointment at the Bristol Eye Hospital this afternoon. The lady we saw was brilliant, and she assessed how much vision he had and the best type of magnifying device for him. She was pushing him hard to find one he could read small text, so that most text would be bigger than that.

She also was concerned about his mobility and falls, and has referred him to the mobility unit so they can teach him how to use a cane. She mentioned guide dogs, but we are not sure about that with me being a bit allergic to dogs! She said he shouldn’t really go out unaccompanied anymore now and we have somebody coming to the house next week to see what ideas there are to help.
