Kettle

A kettle over a peat fire at Kirbuster Farm Museum, Orkney.  The farm was inhabited as recently as 1963.
This is in the main room, the 'firehoose', where there is an open peat fire in the middle and a stone bed at the side of the room.  The neolithic houses at Skara Brae Village also have a fire in the middle of the room and the stone beds are at the sides.
