I know what I like
Its,all very well coffee shops offering a wide range of coffees with milk, syrups and goodness knows what else. But when it comes to black coffee, it's either espresso (too small) or americano (far too weak and watery). In Australia we discovered they have a name for the coffee we make at home, a long black. It hasn't caught on here yet, but I have started asking for 'an americano with a lot less water'. This cafe in Newcastle got it just right, and fuelled me nicely for the drive home.
