Aire Valley

This is one small section of the Aire Valley as the river passes through our local area. It rises in Malham and travels as far as Airmyn where it joins the River Ouse. Seventy one miles long, it travels through some of the most beautiful Yorkshire scenery and also through some of its industrial areas. This blip is taken from Druids Altar, a series of rocks and boulders on the edge of the St Ives Estate. Pal Helen and I took a circular walk around the estate this morning, concluding with lunch at Lady B's.

In the blip you can see the Bingley bypass road and then further out you might just see barges on the Leeds Liverpool canal if you look in large. On the hillside to the left is the village of East Morton and then to the right in the valley, the beginnings of the town of Bingley.
