‘Footbridge’ East Lyn River

A leisurely morning with a car picnic at the Weir then coffee in our favourite Gallery .
We walked to Watersmeet spotting a large old heron in the middle of the river rocks as we walked.
We spent nearly a couple of hours at the NT cafe feeding the birds who were very interested in our crumbs. We fed numerous types including a nuthatch whose diet usually consists of insects!
A pub dinner at the Blue Ball followed by a drive over the Moor near Dunkery . We spotted severalherds of red deer - 120 plus . In the soft evening light they looked magnificent - all Hines and young ones.
The ‘footbridge’ is part of a campaign to have a replacement footbridge over the River at that point - the other was washed away and unsafe.
