Friendship

I woke up in the country today, Selinsgrove, PA to be exact. The first thing I noticed was the clean fresh air. With the temperatures dropping into the fifties last night there was a sweet coolness aloft this morning. It was a perfect morning to worship outside. To make matters even more wonderful, breakfast was served in the grove before the service.

It was last spring when I was contacted about performing a concert here. The invitation was from a pastoral acquaintance from quite a few years ago. So the event was more than just a concert. It was an opportunity to visit an old friend, a time to reminisce, and a time to catch up on our lives. We were invited to stay over, and that allowed for plenty of time to reconnect, which we did gratefully.

As God brings us together, we have the responsibility to nurture the relationship. It only blossoms if we care for it. We have to put forth the effort to make that happen. It’s actually a model for our relationship with Him. Lord, thank you for your friendship, oh, that I’d care and nurture it, that I’d do my part, and that we’d continue to bond in the days to come.

Pray on,
Eddy
