Pill box

This is the remains of a pill box that was constructed during WW2 when an attack from Japan was thought to be a possibility. The doorway and most of the slits have been bricked up. However it does have a new bench and boardwalk around it so you can sit and enjoy the view. It's of concrete construction which is an example of a melange of different materials.
