Fishing boats moored.

Last night the threatened storm hit our campsite
The winds were ferocious gusting up to 50mph. We were pleased we were in our camper van rather than a tent! Even so the winds rocked us around and kept us awake most of the night. The storms had already led to the cancellation of the Fishermans friends gig at Port Isaac and the Boardmasters festival in Newquay.
By the afternoon the squally rain had ended and the sun was out. We decided on a trip to Port Isaac to walk around and sit on the beach. It was surprisingly warm and the sun shining changed the sea from dirty grey to turquoise blue. The boats in the harbour looked calm and rested and reflected my mood after a hectic night.
Grateful today for shelter from the storm (Bob Dylan?), peace and sunshine to reflect upon whilst eating ice cream and safety for those who make their livelihood on the seas.
