Another milestone

We were caught in the downpours and flooding while out shopping.  But it didn't stop our planned trip to chislehurst.

The rain held off as we did the flowers on the grave in the churchyard.  Our intended walk through the woods to the High Street was cancelled as my back was hurting and the sky was very dark and promised more rain.

We had a lovely Thai lunch in the recently opened Giggling Squid. My first Thai food in many months and another mini milestone crossed. The food was good and the mocktails very refreshing.

The restaurant's decor resembled a country garden, and i felt it could be the scene for a wedding. It was a very bright  sunny environment and we sat on a very  comfy sofa beneath a glass roof  where we could watch the rain while keeping  dry.

Prior to being a Thai eatery, this was Cafe Rouge,  and the building was once the old post office
Fortunately the original exterior has been retained. It's origin was probably early 20th century  about 1910, and there is a plaque of King  George V on the wall.

Now back home and relaxing on the daybed in the glass room while the rain hammers on the glass roof. It is quite  cold and I have wrapped myself in a fleece throw. Juliette allowed me to dry her wet fur with a towel and now she is cuddled up with me.
