Brintons Bell

Brintons carpet factory was established many hears ago in Kidderminster.  We went to Kidderminster today on a search for good reflections in glass windows.  We had moderate success there, but did find the old Brintons bell hanging on the wall of one of the lovely old industrial buildings that abound in Kidderminster.

Located at Brinton's town centre factory, this bell summoned the Kidderminster volunteer fire brigade into action.

The bell became redundant in 1882 when a Ship's Whistle, known locally as "Brinton's Bull", was commissioned to provide a more audible fire alarm.
