Getting the sparkle back

Orange rose

On a quick trip to Princes Street - but the rose wasn't in the gardens which were closed, and there was a kind of curtain to stop you seeing in, which I thought was pretty mean - the music played in the gardens could certainly be heard outside the gardens, just nothing in the gardens could be seen, and the view of the castle and the Royal Mile was obstructed too.

This was after going to a one-woman play at the Traverse Theatre with JM - "Until the Flood" by Dael Orlandersmith, about the 2014 killing of a black teenager, Michael Brown, by white policeman Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri. The script of the play was put together from interviews after the killing and featured white and black people from many different standpoints, all portrayed by Dael Orlandersmith. A powerful and very effective piece of theatre.
