Innsbruck, Hofkirche, statues

The church was built in 1553 as a memorial to Emperor Maximilian 1 by his grandson. These statues are a small part of M's tomb area - they are of a variety of royal worthies, not just from his time and includes a statue of King Arthur of Britain. Which makes me think that some of the others might be of mythical people too.

What's funny about this group is where the lighter, polished area is - that comes from people rubbing their hands on it for good luck or a blessing..
