Liverpool Docks from above

We rushed back from Hull to Liverpool for what was the chance to use Tracy's 50th birthday present from her parents, a helicopter flight.

With the forecast being for thunderstorms we hadn't expected it to go ahead but having heard nothing to the contrary the journey from East to West coast was good and we arrived in the farmland north of Liverpool in good time. Then as we parked Tracy had a phone call, it was the helicopter people saying could we turn up early as they wanted to get the flights in as quickly as possible before the weather tuned so 10 minutes later we were up in the air for an exhilarating trip across Liverpool city centre and then back up The Mersey, the views were stunning and I took quite  few photos although not that many as I wanted to be present in the journey.

The huge red dock cranes have become to me at least fairly iconic as they are visible from a long distance down the North Wales coast so it was good to fly above them.
