Ashland, Early Morning

We got to our friends’ place last night in time to freshen up before meeting my old high school buddy for dinner. Amazingly, we are able to easily pick up loose threads after years have gone by, and it was a treat to visit with her, even if we remember different things, or sometimes nothing at all!

The barn is just down the street from where we’re staying. It somehow looks like New England in the fall, which is why I like Ashland so much. I haven’t bothered to verify it, but I’m guessing the latitude is pretty much the same as where I grew up in Massachusetts—the vegetation is so similar, and the light. Again, we had a nice walk before getting in the car for another long haul, but we will be home tonight!  We made a brief stop at the Ashland Farmers' Market to get some road food, and were very impressed with the number of vendors and the quality of the products.
